We make all types of curtains from unlined machined to hand crafted interlined curtains. There are many different curtain styles. Some samples of which can be viewed from our shop showroom. Some examples of the many styles that we can provide include the following:

Swags and Tails: The graceful drape and gather of swags and tails creates the ultimate opulent look, giving your whole room a feel of distinction.

Suiting most types of windows, including bays, swags and tails are always a pleasure to look at. They can be matched to sill length or full length curtains and can be dressed up with trimmings, or dressed down by use of plain fabrics.

Pelmets: A pelmet is a decorative framework placed above a window, used to conceal curtain fixtures. These can hide the curtain rod and conserve heat in a room.

Pelmets are flat accessories, made from buckram or wood. They can be shaped and run along the top/bottom, and can also be finished with trimmings or contrast bands. They suit a traditional or contemporary room and can also be fitted into bay windows.

Valances: Valances cover the uppermost part of the window and can be hung alone or paired with window blinds, or curtains. Often used as a very popular choice to add decorative appeal to a room, but also provide the practical functionality of hiding drapery hardware.

Valances dress any style of window, particularly bay windows. Different heading styles are available, including: Pencil pleat, smocked, pin pleat, goblet pleats and swagged valences.

Curtains on Poles: Pole offers either a contemporary or traditional look and can be fitted into all types of windows, including bays. We can customize our curtains to make them look good by addition of an interesting heading i.e. twin pleats, triple pleats, tab tops, eyelets and much more. We can also supply and install all types of blinds! Blinds are so versatile and suitable for all types of living spaces. All blinds are custom made to your exact requirements with free advice, measuring and quotation services, Fitting services and Delivery Services, as well as the ability to collect directly from the shop. There are a wide variety of blinds, including:

Venetian Blinds: Venetian blinds offer a versatile and stylish way to filter or cut out light from your room that can be customised by colour, fabric and size.

Wood venetian blinds are available in a plethora of colours, including special paint and stain effects. They come in 25, 35 and 50mm widths. Aluminium is also available, again in many different effects including wood and perforated. Sizes available include 16, 25, 35 and 50mm.

Vertical Blinds: Our made to measure Vertical blinds are ideal for controlling the amount of light coming into a room. They provide privacy when closed, a clear view of the outside world when the blind is pulled back, and can be used to filter the light when tilted at an angle.

Available in wood, woven wood textures, aluminium and standard laminated fabric but there is a much wider choice of colours and textures from sheer to black out fabrics.

Roller Blinds: Roller blinds are perfect for adding simple style to your home. Easy to operate, they are very functional blinds, customisable through the use of braids and poles, and fabrics. Roller blinds look great on any sized window

Panel Glide Systems: The elegance and softness of a curtain with a modern edge, these panel glide systems make a stunning room divider or act as a contemporary alternative to vertical blinds.

They are made from panels of stiffened fabrics including sheers, available in split draw or left or right hand stack. Wood weaves also available as panel glide.

Roman Blinds: The clean, modern simplicity of roman blinds has made them extremely popular in today's interior home, offering a stylish and economical alternative to curtains. These blinds are suitable for nearly any opening, and even suitable for conservatories!

Custom made in our workrooms, they are simple, stylish and suit traditional and contemporary fabrics. Available unlined, lined, black-out lined and interlined, with different styles available for the top or bottom of the blind.

Roman blinds can be made to co-ordinate with curtains, by mounting on double poles, or can used as a sole window treatment and can be mounted upon a single pole.

Curtains: Here at Rags To Stitches we specialise in altering ready made curtains that are not quite the right length or need to be joined to get the width or even need relining in black out lining and changed to pinch pleat heading basically we can do almost anything you require.

We can also adapt your favourite curtains to fit another room when you move, or even use an old curtain and adapt the fabric to make a roman blind.

Clothing: We have a team of professional dressmakers and tailors that can do any alteration to any garment from just a simple shortening to adapting a wedding dress.
